Cash-on-delivery order confirmation on WhatsApp
Cash-on-delivery stores lose money on orders that are refused at the door. Confirming each COD order on WhatsApp before dispatch, with a message the customer can answer in one word, is the cheapest fix. Here is a workflow that uses the automatic order confirmation and a reply-based check.

The workflow
- Shopify creates the order with payment pending (COD).
- WhatsApp Pilot sends the confirmation automatically from your number within seconds, with the order number and total.
- The template asks the customer to reply YES or to report a change. Replies arrive in your WhatsApp like any chat.
- Your team ships confirmed orders and calls or cancels the rest.
Template (Arabic)
مرحباً {{customer_first_name}}، استلمنا طلبك {{order_name}} بالدفع عند الاستلام من {{store_name}} بقيمة {{order_total}}. أرسل نعم للتأكيد، أو أخبرنا إن كان هناك أي تعديل قبل الشحن.
Template (English)
Hi {{customer_first_name}}, we received your cash-on-delivery order {{order_name}} from {{store_name}} ({{order_total}}). Reply YES to confirm, or tell us if anything needs to change before we ship.
What is automated today and what is planned
Today the confirmation goes out automatically to every order, so write the template for the COD case if most of your orders are COD, or keep it neutral if you take cards too. A dedicated COD flow that filters by payment method and tracks replies is on the roadmap and listed as planned on our features page.
Frequently asked questions
Does this reduce returns?
Merchants use it to catch wrong numbers, duplicate orders and changed minds before paying the courier. We do not publish a rate; measure your own refusal rate before and after.
Can the customer reply?
Yes. The message comes from your real WhatsApp number, so replies land in your WhatsApp.
