Sending the Shopify order status link on WhatsApp
Every Shopify order has an order status page that shows the items, the total, the delivery address and the shipping updates. Sending that link on WhatsApp gives the customer one place to check their order instead of asking you. WhatsApp Pilot adds it to each confirmation as a short link on your own store domain.

What the order status page shows
- The order name, items, quantities and total.
- The shipping address and the chosen delivery method.
- Fulfillment and tracking updates as you add them in Shopify.
- Your store's contact details.
Why a short, branded link
The raw order status URL is long and contains a token, so it wraps over several lines in a chat and looks suspicious. WhatsApp Pilot replaces it with a short link on your own store domain that redirects to the same page. Customers see your domain, and the message stays readable.
How it is added
You do not paste anything. When an order is created, the app builds the short link and appends it to the confirmation message. Clicks on the link are counted in Analytics, so you can see how many customers opened their order page from WhatsApp.
Order status link vs carrier tracking link
| Order status link | Carrier tracking link | |
|---|---|---|
| Available | Immediately when the order is created | Only after fulfillment with a tracking number |
| Shows | Order details and all updates | The parcel's journey with one carrier |
| In WhatsApp Pilot | Sent with the order confirmation | Added to the Order Fulfillment notice (Pro), one per shipment, when Shopify has it |
Frequently asked questions
Does the link expire?
The short link points to Shopify's order status page for that order, which stays available to the customer.
Can anyone with the link see the order?
The link works like the one in Shopify's confirmation email: it is unique to the order and should be shared only with the customer.
